For the second night in a row, we are stranded attempting to get down to California. After spending last night at the Seven Feathers Casino Resort, we made the decision to try to make it through. We were able to make it over the summit of Mt. Ashland but got stranded on Interstate 5 about 20 miles south of Yreka. We were stuck on the freeway [see photo] for two hours before making the decision to turn around and head back to Yreka. It was about 4 p.m. and we were concerned that we would not be able to find a hotel room. Kim and I were prepared to spend the night in the car in the parking lot of a Denny's or something - better than spending the night in the car on I5. But, fortunately, we found a hotel room. We are staying at Rodeway Inn - it's a dive but at least we have heat, a clean bed and a shower. We will try again tomorrow. Stay tuned...

We are praying for you two to make it here safe and sound, I know this storm is causing alot of problems. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow, I pray they are right and you get through OK. What you need is some reindeer to pull that red sleigh!God bless you with traveling mercies. Britt & Tom
